Default How long before 5.02 aka problems

I really would rather not start this thread
but it sounds like 5.01 is more of a headache than it is worth. It's not sure if its a demo copy, audiosuite plugs goe weird, some plug-ins no longer behave, picky about operating systems even though it sounds like a slow mover, etc, etc. I recently ordered the upgrade thinking it was time to move from the 4.3.X platform but to be honest I am already afraid to load it due to the problems I have seen posted. I really can't believe this is the degree of professionalism? I had expected when I bought a Pro Tools system. Thank you for letting me sound off.

what is your system, i think it is hardware and OS related. depending on your machine, you can probably search some threads here to see if there are any compatibility issues. just study these pages and within a week (or a few hours) you'll know what to look out for.

You should upgrade to Pro Tools ver 5.0.1
It is well worth it. if you are concerned about system requirments please see the link below. I have found PT 5.0.1 to be the most
stable yet. G4/400 OS 9.0.4 Mix Plus, Plus, Plus, and Pro Control. http://www.digidesign.com/compato/mainpt24mixmac.html

chicagobob -

I've been through the upgrade struggle and I can pass on one piece of advice:

Now is the time for a Hardware Upgrade. Consider moving to the latest/greatest, and you should have many less headaches (unless you require 2 monitors, which is still a little silly) G4 with PT5 is increadable - you'll really enjoy the enhancements. Just stay to the Spec.

Enjoy!
