I just started using PT11 and noticed that the MasterMeter plug completely uses up all of my cpu power and PT doesn't let me play anything at all. Even if the MasterMeter is the only plug on the tracks. If anyone can help me out with this please let me know. Thank you for your time.

A friend if mine showed me it at first. Then I tried it on my PT11. It doesn't really bother me all that much while I am mixing because I don't use it then, but I use it while mastering. But I've only heard of one other verification of it happening on another system.

I tried putting the meter on a mono audio track, a stereo aux track and a stereo master (I feel like I should have tried it on a stereo audio and mono aux/master) but it seems like the stereo MasterMeter has a big it it, but the mono meter works just fine. Oh and I am running PT 11.1.2. Hopefully Avid will find this and fix the bug.

I'm also getting the CPU spike, even in a session with a single track with a single instance of MasterMeter. Total hits 100%. One core bouncing between 50% and 60%, the others idle. Even in a session and a single track with a single multichannel instance of MasterMeter. Mono works fine. No option for multi-mono. Adding a dither before didn't work, neither did adding a dither after.

Justus, the issue you brought forth in the thread was CPU spikes. You solved the issue of CPU spikes shortly after posting by removing Master Meter. Just sayin', that may be why your thread didn't receive replies.
