Default MTRX Studio Monitoring via Dante

I'm exploring the possibility of creating an alternate 5.1 monitoring path out of the MTRX Studio via Dante to a Powersoft DSP 4k4 amp. I'm not sure where to start with this. Do I connect both units to a separate switch and then configure this in DADman? Do I also need virtual DANTE software from Audinate to make this work?

Mac mini i7, OS 14.4.1, MTRX Studio via HD Native Thunderbolt, PT Ultimate 2024.3.1, Avid Dock and S1.

No. You would not normally use DVS, that is a (not great) connection between your Mac and the interface, you already have that connection with HD Native assuming you have enough I/O there. And if you are out of I/O capacity on HD Native I would be looking at going Thunderbolt.

You don't need a switch if just connecting two devices. Run the MTRX Studio in switched mode with the Mac connected to Port 1 for Control and the DSP 4K4 DSP+D amplifier connected to Port 2.

Your monitoring paths can be any available output from the MTRX Studio. You just need to configure this in DADMan. You assign your speaker outputs to the Dante outs of the MTRX. Both the MTRX and the Powersoft unit would need to be on the same Dante network. This could be done with a passive ethernet switch. I'm not familiar the patching capabilities of the Powersoft unit but you can patch all the Dante with Audinate's free Dante Controller software.
