You'll need a third party application like Macdrive to read a mac formatted HD on a PC...

Re: Transfering MAc Files to PC...PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
You can transfer via ethernet network with MacSOHO easily. Provided the PC will be able to use the files (ie you have an apporpriate application to run the files) it will work excellent, and no need to deal with drive compatibilites between formats.
Install SOHO on your mac, onnect the two computers via ethernet, and launch soho. You can then mount any of your shared drives on your mac desktop, and the shared drives on your mac will appear in Network Neighborhood. It's an easy and excellent application. I've "shared" it with many mac/pc friends who alos love it. Contact me via e-mail if you need more info. Hope this is helpful. |

Re: Transfering MAc Files to PC...PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
Hi,
The easiest way to do that (if you transfer a lot from Mac<>PC is to format the drive in the PC with FAT32 file system (one of the standard PC file system). Then it would be completely interchangeable without problem. I installed a 30 MB IBM Firewire drive in a studio for passing file between both type of computer. There's also other options, like using a Mac formatted drive in PC. There are many good comercial soft for that, or you can use an excellent freeware (don't remember the name now). For easy PT exchange, save projects with PC-compatibility option and use AIFF or BWAV audio files. Esteban |
