HD Annual Support Plan Should Include Support for ProControl and Control 24

Can I suggest to you Avid, that you enable the use of the ProControl and Control 24 to be used with all version of ProTools, as long as the annual plan is active. Let users use whatever version of ProTools they choose to, even it that version is no longer being supported by Avid.

If my support plan expires and I do not renew, then I loose the ability to use the Control 24 or ProControl with any version over PTHD10.

Do that, and I'll give you 600 bucks a year.

Think about it, with the drop of TDM cards, lots of people out there who do not make a living out of their system, will now seriously consider joining the support plan, who otherwise will not, ever likely. Why not capture that market.

I doubt today that there are very many Post Houses as well as big time studios that are using the ProControl or the Control 24, probably more on the latter. Those markets have already for the most part got rid of the ProControls and Control 24's for newer surfaces. Especially considering the price drop recently of D-Commands.

Not gonna happen - Pro Control and Control 24 are both unsupported legacy products.

Unfortunately True. Dead products and won't happen as it would have 2 years ago when we went PT11 and 64bit. Would have kept our Pro Control 32 fader units if they would have worked as the faders are killer on those controllers and I love the layout but we have moved on and accepted the changes.

I wish it wasn't the case, believe me. I would love for Control 24 to work with PT11/12. I like the design much more than the C24 for sure.

That's a joke question right, barry? it's been horrid......

I have even considered HUI.....yes it's been that bad

Here is the problem....I keep reaching for the surface....(it's still there on the desk) for the simplest of items.....Clear all Solos, remove groups, enable groups, toggle auto modes, changing the edit tools (selector, grabber, trim)

Let's just say the S3 is looking sexier by the minute......either that or a new D-Command ES. Because I am not seeing any on the used market.....

I really need to sit down with both of those controllers and spend an hour or two with them....to see what are the benefits of both......
