Tracks stop playback

Another one
10.2 HDX

In the middle of a mix session, all of a sudden you think, hmm, why is this sounding different?

Bass stopped playing just like that. I can see the meter moving, but it doesn't play back.

Seems like a few things changed in the mix too, so ---->

Restarting.

Now everything seems okay again. What gives?
