This is annoying
I have a trouble with delay compensation on sends.
Say if I have a plug in like tl drum rehab that needs to be compensated for. When setting up a pre fader headphonemix for the artist he/she is delayed in her headphones. My mix in the controlroom is fine. No masterfaders in the session. I have to turn of any of the plugs that need to be compensated most for. Make sense? Svein |

Re: This is annoying
Sends are always post-insert, even when set to pre-fader — hence your delay. Print a temporary version of the “offending” tracks, and then record the talent.
IHTH.

Re: This is annoying
Hi Andre!
There are no inserts on the talents track. Why do the sends on the talents track gets delayed when there is for example a snare with tl drumrehab in the session? Svein |

Re: This is annoying
Hei, Svein.
Let's say that the audio track set up for the talent only has a pre-fader send and no plugins, but the snare track has a delay of 1092 samples. In this example, 1092 samples on the snare track is the largest amount in this session. If the talent track has a delay of 10 samples due to the send, it will be delay compensated by 1082 samples to keep alignment with the snare track. Makes sense? Anyway, record with ADC off. Works great.

Re: This is annoying
I know stig, but why is the ADC for the mainpath bypassed when in record and not the send?
Does it matter if the signal comes out of the track output or the send? The send should also behave like the output does when record is activated. Thats my point here. Svein |

It is the same. Your just not hearing the delay on the singers vox as your not in their head. If they were in the room with you you'd notice.

Re: This is annoying
No, it's not the same cause if I route that channel's output direct to the talents quemix (not using send) there is no delay in the headphones

Re: This is annoying
How about this kind of workaround:
1) create as many aux channels as you have audio tracks for the cue mix 2) move all plugins to the aux tracks 3) route audio tracks to aux tracks for mixing 4) create cue mix sends from the audio tracks that have no plugins It will eat some more DSP for the mixer, but should also solve your trouble.
