Pro tools plays back wrong audio

We are running PT 5.1 on Mac. Recently PT has started playing audio from old projects.

The disc has been recently formatted due to the problem occuring previously. However a short time later the problem re occurs.

Your Mac is allocating the wrong blocks to your files.
What disk utility are you using?

I had the same problem (and did some puzzle withe my fragments of files)with:

HDT and old Norton Utilities?
Mac Os 8+ and old Norton Utilities?
I can't say the exact incompatibility, but everything became right again when I updated Norton Ut. to the most recent version.

The problem occured when I was defragmenting/repairing a disk.

We are using at the recommendation of the supplier the ATTO formatting utility,Norton is not running at all also as recommended.
We dont normally defrag just re format.
