Re: MAJOR PROBLEMS!! TDM MIX
10.3.2 was not qualified for v6.4.1cs3. Only v10.3.4 was qualified. I happen to know that v10.3.9 will work with v6.4.1cs3, but Digidesign doesn't support it. Hence, since v10.3.9 is unsupported, QuickTime v7 (which requires v10.3.9) is not supported. I haven't looked at the compatibility docs for v6.9, but I don't believe that v10.3.9 was qualified for anything. Therefore, the only way to use QuickTime v7 in a supported PT environment is to be using Mac OS X v10.4.1 Tiger.
Now that I've got that out of my system, let me inform you about QuickTime v7. QuickTime v7 is a vastly different beast from QuickTime v6. It isn't QuickTime v6 with H.264 added. It has significant underlying changes. I know this because I'm on a newsgroup for Jitter (a Cycling '74 product), and Jitter relies heavily on QuickTime. Several objects that Jitter relies on QuickTime for no longer work because of changes in QuickTime v7. So QuickTime v7 may be causing your problem, and nothing else. Next, lets focus on your hardware. Did you reseat your MIX Core card? Is it in the slot next to your graphics card? If it isn't, it should be. Did you reseat the interface cable between your MIX Core card and your 888/24? If not, you should. Is your 888/24 on when running DigiTest? If not, you will get errors. If you have done all of that, great! It means that those things would not be the source of your troubles. The next step is to test the Mac hardware. To do this, boot off of the Apple Hardware Test CD or Software Restore DVD (depending on Mac model) that shipped with your Mac. If you are booting off of the Software Restore DVD, hold the option key while the Mac starts up, then choose Apple Hardware Test. Once Apple Hardware Test loads, press Control+L. This puts Apple Hardware Test in loop mode. Click Extended Test, and let it go (preferrably overnight). When you return, the hardware test will have found an error or it will be continuing. If it finds an error, it will give you an error code and you will be able to see which iteration of the loop it found the error on. If it has not found an error, it will still be looping and it will indicate which iteration of the loop is currently in progress. Either way, the only way to restart your Mac is to hold in the power key to shut it down first. Digidesign, could you please add the above paragraph to the OS X troubleshooting thread? If the Mac hardware is ok, then do an archive and install of Mac OS X. This will preserve user accounts and settings while giving you an otherwise fresh install. However, since you appear to running an unsupported configuration, I suggest you wipe your disk clean and install v10.3.4. In the future, you may want to make a bootable backup of your Macintosh HD before proceeding with upgrades. To do this, use Carbon Copy Cloner. You can find links to it by searching versiontracker.com. Please let us know what does or doesn't work in resolving your problem. Good luck!

Re: MAJOR PROBLEMS!! TDM MIX
actually.. the cs3 version of 6.4.1 says you can use 10.3.2 or 10.3.4, but since u changed the mix core to the slot furthest from the graphics card (slot 5) its seems to work fine thansk for your help.
