Default Laptop charging uses up processor

Hi all, was just having trouble bouncing down with error message to reduce native plugins. Solved by unplugging laptop charger ??
All playback glitches & bounce problems solved. Currently using pt11 with reason 13 sitala & synth master on dell latitude 5285 with ssl2.

Seems weird, but several potential causes to look at, including the CPU not using turbo boost mode when on battery power, and/or the CPU generally slowing down so it also avoid potential overheating/sudden throttling. Hopefully you have the system fully optimized, every last thing done, BIOS settings, etc.. And also have done standard troubleshooting, especially for plugins.

Pro Tools 11 is old stuff. It lacks significant improvements in AAX plugin processing optimization/scaling that Pro Tools gained several years ago. And lacks all the nice freeze/commit workflow that can help offload lots of CPU processing, and lacks disk cache (unless you have 11HD) which can also help avoid CPU errors, etc.

Yeah, all bios & system tunes done (no turbo as advised on read me’s) seems like a hardware issue. Charger was from 12v 100ah batt charged, then through voltage stabiser then stepped up to 24v running usbC 20v. Later I ran charger of high current lithium 48v & no glitches. But still charging seems to massively interfere with processor.
