Audio engine play startup deadline was missed
I am new to 8.0 and just loaded up an old file and when I hit play it gives me this message and will not play. "Audio engine play startup deadline was missed." What do I do to hit the deadline? I have no idea what it is talking about. Sorry for such a newbie question.... please advise.

Now I am starting to see the light. Can you roll back to the previous version of Pro Tools that you had working? Did you HAVE a previous version working? Are you hip to a solid backup plan? If you answered "no" to all this, you may be in for some extra work, reloading stuff.
