Avid Control quits randomly on iPad 7/S1

When using Pro Tools Ultimate, Avid Control running on my iPad 7 on my rightmost S1 keeps randomly quitting/crashing. I.e. it stops running and the iPad reverts to the first page of apps.

The other iPad 8 on the left S1 and the iPad Air on the dock generally keep running.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to investigate/fix this issue?

Side note: I replaced the ethernet cable going to the misbehaving iPad, and it stayed connected for almost an hour. Then Pro Tools crashed (likely unrelated to this issue). So, not sure if the cable was the problem all along, but wanted to note the progress.

The Avid Control app on the suspect iPad crashed again, so I don't think it was just the cable.

Why don't you try going wifi on the tablet and see what happens? Some details on your network setup might be helpful here.

I removed the ethernet cable from the offending iPad and am using it via WiFi and it's been OK for about 8 hours now. It is connected to the same WiFi network that the computer is (though the computer is using the ethernet connection for access to the internet).

But, to answer the network question:
All gear is connected to a NETGEAR 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (JGS524) with Cat5e or Cat6 cables. (with the exception of the iPad 7 at the moment since I'm trying the WiFi method)
S1.1 > JGS534
Dock > JGS534
S1.2 > JGS534
The internet comes in from a Ubuiquiti router upstairs, which also creates the WiFi network.
MacBook >(thunderbolt) CalDigit TS4 >JGS524
iPad 8 (on S1.1) > Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter > Apple USB to Ethernet adapter>JGS524
iPad Air 4 >UNI USBC to Ethernet adapter > JGS524
iPad 7 (on S1.2) Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter > Apple USB to Ethernet adapter>JGS524

Configure IP is automatic and Limit IP Address Tracking is off on all tablets.

Today Avid Control on the iPad with the WiFi connection has been quitting frequently.

When you say it quits, does Avid Control completely disappear to the desktop? What are you doing at the time.

By "quit" I mean that Avid Control disappears on the iPad and the iPad displays the home screen.

Sometimes this happens when I'm using Pro Tools, other times, it happens when I'm not touching the computer.
