S6 Back and Play performing inconsistently and lagging a lot

Hi all,

Using back and play on the S6 2022.12 and 2022.10 results in super inconsistent and laggy response. PT Version 2022.10 on all rigs bar one which is on 2021.20. In some instances pressing it back and play 3x in a row results in the transport getting totally confused and taking anywhere between 2-10 seconds to register the commands. Workflow has already been adjusted to use back a few times, stop and then play when back and play is not responding. However, sometimes neither work at all.

We need to be able to run 5 rigs on satellite alongside picture, which are two things we've worked out minimise lagging/confusion to the transport when using back and play. All rigs have got

What we have found so far:

- Running 1 rig on satellite works consistently very well (not possible to run with only one rig at a time on satellite)
- Running without picture runs consistently well (not possible to run without picture)
- We tried to use transport Lock A) locking the playback rig to the rig with the picture rig and then B) locking the playback rig to the rig that is satellite master and neither showed any improvement.

Another potential theory, which would be good to know if anyone else has experienced - could there be a potential lag in the network?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue. We are having the same issue with back and play in S6/WS/PT version 2023.6, although the issue isnt limited to just this action in our case, we are seeing lag with most actions, even pressing stop on the desk transport. The network configuration completely local, with a flying cat6 lead connecting the onboard network port on the mac and a port on one of the S6's internal D-Link switches - the setup couldnt be more straight forward. Performing the same actions on a keyboard are instantaneous, so theres definitely an issue with the network/Eucon comms between the S6 and PT host machine. Id be interested to know where you got to with this.
