Default PT 11 recognize keyboard but not PT 10?

Hi

I own a korg microkey37. I've had problems with getting PT10 recognize it, sometimes it works and sometimes it does'nt. Now though when i got PT11 it works perfectly good.

The problem is that PT11 keeps crashing... so I need to go back to PT10 for now. How come it works in PT11 but not in PT10? I haven't done any changes.

Thanks
Johan

I'm not sure if this will help, but I had a problem when using midi tracks in PT10. My controller wasn't the same as yours but it would not communicate with structure in PT10 neither. I lost tremendous amount of time trying to make it work on two different workstations.

I solve the issue by creating "instrument tracks" instead of plain "midi tracks".

Windows or Mac? The Korg is just a USB controller; if you're on a Windows machine USB ports can be set to power down (aka sleep mode) so make sure the USB ports aren't shutting down. Another possibility is your computer doesn't have enough power to power the keyboard through the USB port or the power supply in your computer is marginal.

I'm using windows. But seems like it might have been fixed now. Reinstalled the drivers for the midi keyboard and used another usb port. Its allways something too easy...

Hopefully it will keep working! Thank you for the suggestions!

What drivers? The specs for your keyboard say no drivers are necessary. You say you used another USB port - Windows is funky with those ports, especially if you really need to use drivers with something. Connect a peripheral up to one USB port, install drivers if necessary, and if you move said peripheral to a different port it won't be recognized.

Yeah thats the thing, they say there is no need for drivers but it appears there are drivers available anyways for the keyboard. And with that software i could uninstall a previous corrupted installation(in addition to the correct one), which i couldn't see otherwise, that probably have been causing trouble.

As you say, Windows is funky with USB ports and drivers.

Anyways, its still working. Thanks.
