Default Purchase DBX 160 A OR 160 XT?

Looking to buy a new compressor. The DBX 160 seems to be a good choice for the money. Which one is the prefered unit...160A or 160xt? The both look identical.

Ross

The A's are supposed be less noisy. But the big operational difference is the stereo coupling. With a pair of XT's (or the older X's), once the rear TRS jumper is in place, the front Slave button completely engages/disengages stereo coupling. With the A's, you have to push the button on the front AND insert/remove the rear jumper. Major PITA.

Hi Ross,

I was browsing the trouble shooting section when I noticed you question re. DBX 160A or XT compressors. I have a DBX 160X for sale if you're interested. It's in perfect working condition, but has a few scratches on the top (front is in good condition) of the unit. If you're interested, please email me at [email protected] and we'll work out a fair price.

Thanks,
Bryan
