Purchase DBX 160 A OR 160 XT?
Looking to buy a new compressor. The DBX 160 seems to be a good choice for the money. Which one is the prefered unit...160A or 160xt? The both look identical.

Re: Purchase DBX 160 A OR 160 XT?
The A's are supposed be less noisy. But the big operational difference is the stereo coupling. With a pair of XT's (or the older X's), once the rear TRS jumper is in place, the front Slave button completely engages/disengages stereo coupling. With the A's, you have to push the button on the front AND insert/remove the rear jumper. Major PITA.

Re: Purchase DBX 160 A OR 160 XT?
Hi Ross,
I was browsing the trouble shooting section when I noticed you question re. DBX 160A or XT compressors. I have a DBX 160X for sale if you're interested. It's in perfect working condition, but has a few scratches on the top (front is in good condition) of the unit. If you're interested, please email me at [email protected] and we'll work out a fair price. Thanks, Bryan |
