I haven't opened a session with playlists yet so can't confirm. But sounds like they fixed the solo behavior and not the re-ordering.

Confirming 2024.10.1 is still a hot mess with playlist ordering.
Maybe I didn't notice this before but there's an option now in the track playlist pull-down menu to select "New playlist on Loop recording." Is this new? And why do we need two places for this option to be turned on? Can't we keep it in Preferences so we don't accidentally turn it OFF?! AVID - what we really need is an option in that menu or under "MISC" (or anywhere for that matter) in the Preferences that would allow us to revert to the previous playlist behavior. The new behavior slows things down tremendously. Please give us the option to change this back. This is so annoying. |

I agree. The playlist behaviour change makes it very difficult to navigate while tracking. Since the 2024.10 update, the playlist order changes every time you select a different playlist. It makes the recording process very challenging.

I absolutely cannot stand the way the playlist behaves now. It is very confusing. We had something that worked great for years and now its all wrong. There must be a way to revert back to the previous way. It was working fine. "If it aint broke...."

I totally agree with you! It's so frustrating.

I absolutely hate this playlist behaviour . If your playlists are not numbered it's a mess. Please reset to classic function.

It's still a mess even if they're numbered.

I'm new to this BB but I have used Pro Tools for a couple of years. I came from the Cubase world. I joined this BB just for this change and say the old way that was in 2024.6 was much easier to understand. I went back to that version. Do you think it will be corrected by AVID?

I can't believe someone decided that this was okay?
You are recording some important session and you can't figure out why the playlists aren't staying in place. I literally thought I was loosing it during the session. GIVE US THE OPTION TO PUT IT BACK TO WHAT IT WAS!!! ![]() |

Add me to the list of those who don't like this. I've been working in Pro Tools for a very long time. Having a rock solid and highly favored core function suddenly rearranged like this is quite disorienting and stress inducing when clients are accustomed to me being able to work quickly and efficiently. Please put it back or at least offer an option to select the preferred behavior!
