Default Is there a way to create an Audio track with the Fader at zero?

I have zero latency monitoring setup through a mixer…

When I load a new Audio track I have to pull the fader right down so I’m not monitoring the DAW signal aswell as the signal from mixer….

It’s an extra step to pull the fader

Can I load a a new Audio track with Fader at right down?

Thanks

You can create a track preset with the settings you want for your new tracks. Then when you create a new track, simply select your preset and the level will initially be at zero.

Sorry about nitpicking, but zero usually refers to unity gain which is neither plus or minus decibels. What you mean by zero would be minus infinity a.k.a. silence

There is also this mystical "mute" button which does not affect to recording.

Yeah I meant silent…didn’t think to use the mute!

Easier to unmute on playback than to pull up the fader

Will have a play about and see what suits cheers!

There is also a Preference to Unlink Record and Play Faders (Preferences>Operation>Record>Uncheck Link Record and Play Faders). In any Template, Track Preset or in a Session, set whichever Track(s)' Record Fader to be at the bottom (infinity) and at Zero when in Playback once and the Fader(s) should operate that waygoing forward.
