I've bumped this up the engineering team. ( PT-334697)
Fix is expected to be part of the next release but no exact date for this yet.

Tope, the acknowledgment and response is appreciated. Godspeed to the engineering team - next release can't get here fast enough.

Hopefully it's not like 2025.3(.1)(.2) meaning May... lol

Is there any insight into what will be addressed? IS there going to be a user option to have the playlist work like it always has, or is it just going back to the desired behaviour?

This is an absolute nightmare. Please fix this or at least allow us an option of the old work flow. I'm hoping it's just a bug introduced by the new midi playlist stuff and not some new "feature".

The new behavior makes auditioning / comping multi-track instruments like drums quite difficult because it's hard to keep track of which takes you've already auditioned.

On mono sources like vocals, just stay in the "playlist" view and all will be well.

I'm dreaming of a NAMM show curtain drop / pyro blast announcement of 2025.2 with this playlist fix as the one and only new feature. Wake me up when my dream comes true.
