Default Assertion error PT HD 7.3.1. Real pain!!

I am getting an assertion error that shuts down PT during recording sessions. It comes after undoing a take (command z) or after deleting a take using backspace.

Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/vb_cliff/
AlturaPorts/NewFileLibs/CoreFoundation/
MacBuild/../../Sys/MacOs/Sys_FileUtilsMacOs.cpp",
line453 while deleting "Kor_01.wav"

How can I fix this?

Mac PPC dual 2.3, PT HD 7.3.1cs8, Mac OS 10.4.11

Thanks

I should say that I delete prefs and databases often, but it doesn't solve the problem

Ah, but do you delete volume files? Cuz that's where your problem is.

Delete the Volumes folder in: Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Digidesign / Databases / Unicode

I am using the 'ProTools Preferences and database helper 2.3' with everything checked (Including Volumes folder) so I' am not sure it is the problem.

I think that it helps though, but only for a few hours. Then the problem is back.

Worst thing is that the assertion error comes up 'after the fact', when recording a new take. This is very annoying for clients who loose some good performances due to my rig bugging down.

Instead of command zero, use command . to undo the take. That should solve the problem.

Sounds like a good suggestion, Feryano.

Actually i use Key Focus Command 'z' which equals Command z (undo) but I will try using Command . instead and see if it helps

Thanks
