Default 5.1 Panning with MC Control v2
has anyone had any joy using the mc control v2 and it's touch screen in a surround panning 5.1 situation on a HD system

i have heard it is possible - though am yet to audition the unit - how does it do this without a joystick

i am thinking of purchasing either the mc control v2 (thus selling my c|8) or a surround panner ES as an addition to my c|8

any thought / advice 'd be great

it works using the Pro Tools Surround Panner personality. You ads it as the 4th HUI assignment in peripherals.

there are surface commands on the softkeys and touchscreen that allow you to navigate the tracks and sends


The touch screen is used as the interface with a dedicated tab for surround panning.

as in - a 5.1 grid appears on the touch screen with a spacial position icon - i touch that icon to control which speaker i direct the signal to

will the mc v2 work in conjunction with my command8 ie: can i use both at the same time in any session? can i use only one at a time though the are both present and usable in my session as controllers - or can i only use one controller at any time in a session .... sorry for the multiple choice

Does it allow independent simultaneous panning of left and right channels of a stereo track, like the D-Control surround panner?

the screen is not multi-touch which would be required to do this.
