PT 7.4 won´t launch

Hi
My first post here:
I have this problem with installation of PT m-powered 7.4
I install it as usual and when finished I restart the computer...
but when trying to launch PT nothing happens..no graphichs nothing att al
I only see it is an activity..more the installation doesn´t write database to my hard drive and I have no pref files...more I get no error message.
I have tried almost everything I think...I run the app in the tech support folder..and it sais doesn´t seem to be a valid installation...so what can be wrong and how can I solve it ?

I have had this nagging issue for some time 60 days at least. I tried to un-instal, re-instal, reg edit, format drives, delete al extra plug in's, install new pace drivers, nuke old ones, restore my computer. I finlay just went ahead and installed a new os drive since I needed a new one anyways.

My issue was that M-powered would launch after about 8 minutes and until then nothing for 8 solid minutes then poof it would load up. Too long to wait for anything to load unless this is 1995. It happened 8 months into getting the program.

My fix was this: I simply pulled the ilock out launched m-powered then waited for the no i-lock screen you must authorize. I then popped in the ilock got the next key and back it loads in seconds. I then shut m-powered down and re-launched it problem solved. All the other tweaks did nothing (LOL)

I hope this works for you. A check in the mail from Digi for $300 for 6 hours of f--ing around would be nice then again AIG owes me $30k.

Live and learn Or do what Steve Albini does and go all analog. For the most part I am happy with 7.4. Not too stoked on the latency issues while recording VS. stock LE and latency monitoring but hey just plopped in a Quad II Phenom, Solid state OS drive and a 300G 10k V-raptor and it is a whole new ball game.

Consider upgrading your board to a faster bus, get faster ram, a solid state drive for the os and a 10k record drive. Get solid PSU 650W or better. Your life will change as far as how much extra plugs and VI's you can do. I could care less about reverbs and dynamic plugs (A givin on a decent rig) these days I simply want to run GR3, Akoustic Piano, Fab Four, Xpand, A/D Drums, VI strings the whole ball of wax at once as we all do. 10 tracks of independent Vi's is the starting point these days right?

Hi..thanks for your answer, but removing the ilok didn´t help either, nothing comes up, no splash screen, nothing....so then probably the only thing to do is reinstall xp once more..hmmmm,, boring, but ok, if that what it takes

Seemed to be fixed now....reformatted all my drives and reinstalled everything..hope everything is ok now...

Maybe that reinstalling all of your drivers did the trick, for instance iLok, M-Audio interface etc. Did you tried that? Or exclusively the software?

I reinstall everything..new partitions on my disk..reformatted...everything is neewly installed...seems to work :)

That's the 100% reliable solution and it will always be haha ;p. I was asking for before reinstalling everything, you sure reinstalled you drivers after if pt now works but as a solution for other it would be interesting to know if you tried reinstalling you audio interface/iLok/digidesign drivers before formatting/reinstalling.

But whatever, it's a good this that it works now.
