Is it even available yet?

I did a little searching on the behringer support site and found that it does have a "preset for pro tools" and it is supposed to work via usb protocol to the 001, 002 bypassing the midi interface.

Has anyone demo'd one yet?

So cheap! Seems to good to be true.
probably is.

Many give Behringer a hard time due to the fact that they steal (by reverse engineering) manufacturing ideas from other companies,..using cheaper parts (and probably labour).

That being said,..the BCF2000 is no different...it works with Protools via a Mackie HUI emulation mode.
The faders interact seemlessly with my 002R/QuicksilverG4/800Mhz/1.25gRAM via USB 2.0 and can be expandable to 16 faders via the MIDI thru port to another BCF2000. The only drawback as of yet is there is no automation writing with the faders ...yet?...I would hope there is a way they could make this work in the near future.

But if you're looking for a good compact easy to use,..fairly sturdy looking controller from protools (..and can switch to differnt plugin setting parameter controller as well...I'm still testing this)...The Behringer BCF2000 gets my vote.

Hope this helps..

PEACE,

So, am I understanding you?

You cant use the bcf faders for writing volume automation? That is the main reason I'd want it.

I have no trouble writing volume automation (and pan and send as well, haven't tried other varieties yet). The real issue is editing automation as there is no touch sensitivity. It's doable, but just a little more effort. For the money, it's hard to beat, but I still lust after a Command 8.
