Re: proper BIOS settings for an i5 system? HELP!
To be able to give you any kind of proper advice, we would need to know specifics about your system. "an i5 system" is too, too generic. That's kind of like saying "my blue car is broken, what do I need to fix it?"
We need the sandra report. Before you go mucking around with your BIOS, you should first make sure that you have all the requirements met for running Pro Tools. That includes having a separate physical hard drive for audio sessions.

Really. Basic details can only give so much. We need chipset information, and other smaller details that are generated by a system report. It only takes a minute to install Sandra and post the report. A minute that can save you a lot of time and hassle, and helps us to help you.

Re: proper BIOS settings for an i5 system? HELP!
"I've got some change in my pocket; how much is it?"
"It's the standard change; quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. How much do I have?" See... unless I tell you there are 3 quarters, 4 dimes 2 nickels and 5 pennies, you would never know how much change I have. Anything else would be a guess. It's the same thing with your computer. Unless you give us the information we are asking for... anything we say would be a guess. Dell is one of those companies that changes the specs frequently on their computers without changing model numbers. The specs on that machine you listed to might be COMPLETELY different than the machine you are actually trying to use (yep, even if you bought it a couple of days ago!) I'm also not sure why you would need this information so immediately; you're not even near your computer (by your own admission, you are at work) so you wouldn't even be able to try out anything that we would suggest, so...
