Default MPC1000 Help

Obviously I'm doing something wrong so hopefully you guys can help. I hooked up my MPC1000 the same way I have my other drum machine and keyboard hooked up and they MIDI fine. The MPC however is a different story. When I set it to MIDI beat clock in order to trigger a sequence, the audio only comes out of the headphone jack. The sequence follows the PT sessions tempo, it plays fine through the headphones, but no audio to the stereo out. What is causing this? When I just play it normally the output to PT is great.

Second issue. I have the A out going to the A in on my Midisport 4X4 and the out of the 4X4 to the 1 in on the MPC. I did my Midi studio set up, hit a pad and it started sending out a high pitch squealing noise. Obviously not the effect I was going for. So long story short, other than controlling the tempo, nothing MIDI is working out on my MPC1000. Who has suggestions?

OK first problem solved. I don't know how, but I got the MIDI working as well as the MIDI beat clock and it works like a charm my next question is, how do I get each pad to go out to a separate Midi channel? As it is now if I set the MIDI output to MPC-Ch1 and then start tapping around on the pads, all those sounds still play on that MIDI track. How do I make it so Pad1=CH1, Pad2=CH2, and so on? Do I have to manually enter the midi channel for each track? I was under the assumption that each pad transmits on it's own MIDI channel. When I go to the mixer screen and play with the pads I notice that each pad corresponds with that number's track. Someone please enlighten me.
