Sounds like some sort of graphics card/driver issue? More system info might help.

Problem solved. The issue was with a font that had been uninstalled.
I create a new user account and have no problem with missing value in PT plug ins. I went to user library, fonts and copy all the fonts in the new account. Open my old account, and open user library and replace all the fonts. Voila ! PT plug ins running again with all the values in my old accounts. So, for some reason I don't know, I have missed (delete) some font in my library and apparently PT plugins need a special font to display the value correct. The problem was with channel strip, the 1 band and 7 band EQ and the dynamic plug ins-
Hope this can help others.
