HI,
Is my macbook powerfull enough to record 16 channels at once with a digi 003 rack? The details of my macbook are as follows:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook5,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1

My question would be what are you going to add to the 003 to get the extra 8 channels?
I have found that some of the ADAT input units cause you to have to do some nudging.

You shouldn't have a problem tracking 16 channels.
You can play around with your buffer settings to see what gives you the best balance between the timing of the 003 channels and the D8 channels.
Also you can play around to see what is the lowest buffer setting that the MacBook likes while tracking and to see if you need to up it when mixing.

You shouldn't have any problem.

I've been using my old Mac Powerbook (1.67GHz/2GB SDRAM), 003 Factory and Presonus DigiMAX FS to record 16 tracks for a number of live recording events.

I've been VERY happy with my Glyph GT 050Q.

Gotta ask why 7.3 on the PowerBook?
