ADAT optical in via Lightpipe and i get nothing

I am running a lightpipe from my focusrite isa428 Optical ADAT out into my new 96io optical ADAT in. I cannot seem to get a signal from it. I can see signal on my 428 but no signal when i try to record a track from any of the 8 optical inputs. I have set up my i/o setting to have the optical be 9-16 (basically the default settings). What else do I need to do? I can't figure it out. Someonw else had said something in another post about session setup? What is the deal with that?

Do you have lightpipe connected the other direction as well? I think your 428 needs to see clock information from the Digi unit for the connection to be complete.
I just did this using and ADAT as an A/D converter and I had to have both the in and out connected.....

428 only has ouput. and i am using clock sync. I was using it with my ADAT bridge on my mixplua system and did not have a problem. So, i am thinkin it is a software setup issue, but i cannot figure it out.

In the main Hardware Setup window you should have inputs 9-10 to 15-16 set to ADAT 1-2 etc. not Optical 1-2(ADAT), and on the Digital window, have ADAT 1-8 selected on the Input Format. Hopefully that helps. That is how I have my Presonus Digimax setup to my 192. Not sure if the 96i/o would be different.
