So, I just did a fresh install of ME from 98SE and to be honest was a little bit sketched out. I went to Microsofts site and downloaded the critical updates package and installed the software that I will be using. This includes PT, Sound Forge, and Reaktor. I also run SB live and an ethernet card. I also did all of the necessary tweaks. Well, let me tell you, I ran one of my sessions at 128buffer setting with a considerable amount of third-party plug-ins. I ran through my song about 4 times and never got one interrupt. I don't know, but my system seems even more stable and PT rocks. Even Sound Forge recognizes my CD burner now and I can burn my mastered songs right from there. So, to anyone thinking of using Windows ME, I give a total thumbs up. When in doubt if at all possible, just grab a beer and do a fresh install of your OS, and PT will love you for it. One more thing there is a post about optimizing on the DUC here with a link to an article. I did all of that too, and I think somehow that also really helped. I highly recommend it. Happy Recording to all.
