For me it works (compatibility mode NT4 service pack 5), I dont see any difference in anything.
I'm running 5.3.1 on XP Pro with BF 2.0, and waves 3.2 without any problems.

Jonny. I'm new to this board. FINALLY, I HAVE FOUND SOMEONE WHO IS AT LEAST AS discontent with this whole XP/Bomb Factory plugin thing as I am. I heard so many great things about PT, so much that I decided to get into it myself.

I feel like I've been ripped off by Digidesign and their so-called "Developer Partners" . I decided to get me a really nice , 2GHz P4, 100GB hard drive, 512 MB RAM machine, which came with Windows XP. Well guess what?? I found out that Bomb Factory was not supported on XP! So, in an effort to get my money's worth out of the Digi 001/BF purchase, I downgraded to Win 98- wrong answer !! My new superbowamadine PC spit it out. I had to upgrade back to XP, and thus I am stuck "holding the bag". I inquired with Digidesign Tech Support when the XP "support" would be in place for BF. Vaguely they responded:

"Thank you for your email. You will be pleased to know that Bomb Factory does

intend to provide free upgrades for XP users; please see their website for more

details. (From BF: "The update for Pro Tools LE on Windows XP will be without charge, and we will try and get it out ASAP for our 001 Factory customers. (This is a separate, parallel effort to the Pro Tools HD work.))"

We are certain that Bomb Factory wants to get this situation rectified as soon as humanly possible, but we appreciate your frustration and apologize for this inconvenience.

Best regards,

Talk about lame! I've been waiting over two months now and wish I would've just purchased a standard DIGI 001 and saved about $500!! I think Digidesign owes it to its customers to have the support in place before marketing its system to consumers as being compatible with XP, knowing that we will jump all over it in an effort to ride the Pro Tools bandwagon, dying to take our production to the highest levels possible. I sympathize with you. And the more we all who are unhappy with this "whine" about it, maybe we can get faster results. By the way, I feel we deserve to whine because using ProTools is not at all for the "light of wallet"..

Somebody help me out.

Hi Marc,
What a drag. I too had upgraded to XP, but among other reasons, went back to ME to be able to use all my plugins (BF included). But, I don't understand about your new pc 'spitting out' any OS other than XP. What's up with that?

thanksroy

Someone suggested that a bandaid that can be applied is to force Win95 compadibility on the PTLE .exe file. I have tried this (although it is not BF suggested), but it might get your plugin's patched while you wait for the update.

What a drag is right, but it does seem to work as far as I can tell...

Good luck,

~Pako~
