Default Is there a way to automatically bypass plugins while recording?

I'm working with a vocalist who likes to listen back to every take. I put Auto-Tune on his vocal track and set the retune speed pretty fast. His voice/pitch/control is superb, but the robotic Auto-Tune sound lets him immediately identify spots where his pitch wavers without me needing to change his headphone send levels between every take.

The only downside (and I'm probably just being nit-picky here) is that it gets bothersome bypassing and activating the Auto-Tune plugin between every take, and we're doing LOTS of takes. Forgetting to bypass before I record stops a take and gets him off his groove.

I know in Low Latency Monitoring all plugins are bypassed during recording, but I don't have any way to monitor the vocal track. Is there a setting, trick or workaround that would automatically bypass the plugins on a track, but leave the signal routing the same when I hit record?

Shift-A bypasses all plugs on a selected track, Shift-2 bypasses inserts a-e, and Shift-3 bypasses inserts f-j.

Or just set up auto tune on a send so you can mute it.
