Ermm ... well, actually Reaper apparently will not work as a slave under Protools 9 on the Mac. That's my whole problem.

If anyone has any suggestions for a solution, they are appreciated.

Best

Harry.

Since when? Admittedly I've not tried it in 9, but works without question in 8, so can't imagine it would be any different. All of my other rewire apps are working fine...

maybe describe the issues you are having with it...

Another option you should check out is Plogue Bidule...it works really well with PT9. It is a program that allows you to run a multitude of VI's and reads both Vst and Au plugs. So you could run Garritan, Kontakt and any other other VI's in Plogue either as rewire or standalone mode into PT and it is available in 32 or 64 bit versions so you are only limited by the amount of Ram in your system. There are a couple of good videos on youtube if you search for it. Hope this helps.

2Sonic and Lincol1, thank you very much for your replies.

Amazingly - this evening - I had a breakthrough ...

I discovered that I could get REAPER to show up as an INSTRUMENT INSERT when I put the Reaper App and files in the same folder as the PT9 session file.

Wow. Mine eyes have seen the glory. I have Reaper as a stereo insert.

Now I have to work out how to get my keyboard input to play the damn thing.

So there you go.

Thanks for the replies and, if you have any further thoughts, please post them.

Many thanks,

Harry.

Excellent, glad to hear it. I never needed to arrange the folders like that, but if its working go with it right...

As for other suggestions, there are posts here and on the reaper forum ad nauseum, so whatever your working on dig around, you'll find it. Shane at one point posted some session templates even.

If you are still stuck pm me and I'll walk you though it.
