7.3 to 7.4 to 7.4.2 (help)

i apologize that this question may not be relevant to many of you here who are probably dealing with more serious issues.

i purchased an LE system back in January, and just took it out of the box this week since i had been waiting until the whole Leopard/PT issue was somewhat resolved. (i had been using another program in the meantime.)

so i open the box and see the PT LE 7.3 disc and a 7.3.1 updater disc.

on the digi site, i see that there are several downloads available as far as upgrades are concerned.

i'm also aware that i'm eligible for the free 7.4 download since i purchased a PT LE system after October 2007.

so my question is, where do i even start as far as installations go?

do i install the 7.3 and 7.3.1 updater (along with any other 7.3 updates), and then download 7.4 and the new beta version for Leopard? im guessing it would go in this order?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Register the hardware and you should receive an e-mail containing the version 7.4 amnesty upgrade details. I believe that 7.4.2pr is a full installer that does not require a prior installation in place. I suggest you download and run this.

BTW - I walked in your shoes a few years ago (delayed using my PT) and missed out on a few freebies.
My suggestion to you is to register ALL your software/hardware and create an account with Digidesign so that you get e-mail notices of free upgrades, etc.

Case-in-point: you missed out on free Hybrid and Strike upgrades (they ended in March).
Also, check the DUC often...you can learn a lot.
At least, I certainly have.

so just that im 100% certain....

the link to 7.4.2 link is a full program download and does not require me to have 7.3 installed on my computer?

im assuming that i can go ahead and install all of my extra plugins and such as normal after installing 7.4.2?
