Default Feedback On This (Hip Hop) Mix...Please

Hello Avid community. I was wondering if I can get some feedback on this mix that I did, recorded at 44.1khz. Here is the link to the MP3 version I uploaded on SoundClick for this post. I can take any form of criticism. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you in advanced.

Nothing to criticize to me, but at the end when it breaks down with the crackling like an old record, I would also automate an EQ to take off the top and bottom to make it sound more like an old(cheap) record player

Wow good idea. Thank you. Do the vocals sound like they are mixed properly as much as you can tell?

Nice track! My 2¢... the kick & snare kinda dominate and overshadow the vocal. I'd suggest bringing them down & the vocal up and/or EQ to provide more space for the vocal.

You might have already done this, but importing a commercial track you like as a reference to a/b relative levels can be helpful as well.

I also like Dave's suggestion about the ending... EQ3 7-Band has some Special Effects presets that might give you some ideas or good starting points.

Sounds pretty good over all really
But I agree the combination of the kick and bass hitting at the exact same time is a bit much. I know you want low end punch but right now seems to me it's more like low end boom and the punch of kick is getting a bit lost in the sustained boom of the bass.

Me I would try several things to try to get the kick and bass hitting together for effect. but be a bit more distinguishable... If you have not already done it put a high pass filter on both kick and bass and high pass the bass maybe @ bit higher Freq. than the kick...Then subtractive EQ the bass and kick in different frequency ranges with a narrow-ish Q again to have them make more room for each other.

The vocals. First I would set the reverb with a pre delay say 50 -60 ms and or maybe loose the reverb on the background vocals all together
This will tend to move the vocals forward and keep a bit more air in them ..only then would I compress them with a bit of make up gain .
