i purchased it recently, and honestly was a bit dissappointed, ive been able to find everything i need to know here at the DUC. i still have it as a reference, but i think i could have done without it,

but of course, in the end its your decision

Thumbs up Re: Pro Tools 101 Course Book

Gotcha, I kinda figured that. But I still paid the 30 bucks, even if I learn just one or two valuable lessons about editing to make recording easier, it's worth it. Thanks!!

Everything you may want to know can be found on the DUC. But having the book, and reading it can be very helpful for teaching you the things you may not know exist.

Advanced users will find they know a lot of whats in 101 but it probably still worth buying. Couple it with John Keanes book the Musicions Guide to Pro Tools which while getting a bit old is still valid from the stand point of session management and general tips. Add in Kenny Goias original Tricks and Tips videos and you should have a good handle on the basics.

Tremendous amount of stuff on YouTube nowdays-most of which seems accurate.
