Acid Loops and digi001/mac
I just bought a g4 mac and want to get digi001/protools 5.1 to replace the Korg d16 I record on now( great little unit, though). I kind of wanted to get into Acid Loops and other drag and drop percussion, but now I realize that Acid may not support mac. Am I screwed? What is an equivelent to Acid in the mac world?
Thanks |

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!
Phrazer is total crap! Try using ACID under PC emulation, or render the files on a PC and import them, or as unbelievable as this is, spend less money on REASON and get a whole studio of gear. I used ACID for a long time, it's a good program, but I'm able to do loop stuff in REASON, I never thought was possible. |

Re: Acid Loops and digi001/mac
If you use Bias Peak to convert the acid files to sdII format, you can then import them into pro tools sessions and use Serato Pitch n' Time to change the tempo or pitch. It works great and you can use the multi channel mode of Pitch n Time to do multiple files at once.

Re: Acid Loops and digi001/mac
You could just convert to aiff in acid and import into ptt.
Phrazer is GARBAGE dont even waste your time. I agree with the Wrathbone. Reason is very special. Loops fer days... Lets put it this way.. I was at the park the other day and i was making beats on my pizmo. I love being a musician/artist in 2001. it's Magic! JLB |

Re: Acid Loops and digi001/mac
Buy an old PC---the requirements for acid aren't much. Sonic foundry is pretty solid as far as synch too if you wanna hold off on the importing/bouncing/importing stuff.

Re: Acid Loops and digi001/mac
you can sync your pc to your mac and transfer your acid files...but you have to have acid pro. not acid music. only acid pro supports midi.

Re: Acid Loops and digi001/mac
i still have my PC for all my windows apps.
acid is awesome... just create your loops in ACID and save them as stereo aiffs. if you have a zip disk, put that in your mac and it'll work fine. or you can make a LAN with a hub/router and DAVE software. www.thursby.com the aiffs will be sweetly imported into PT, no probs! |
