Pro tools 2018.1 crashes on startup every time -- Mac 10.13.3

I saw this thread in the windows section but this same problem is happening to me on my mac running 10.13.3 So I wanted to check out the new features, and installed 2018.1.0.
I can't get past this error and consequent crash:

assertion in "e:\ code\ 222370\ ProTools\ App\ Document\ UProToolsWindowPresetMgr.cpp", line 250.

which comes up while Initializing Databases.
It also says (Use the Copy button to copy this message...) but the usual Copy button is not there.
It crashes every time
I have tried to uninstall, and reinstall PT 12.8.3 then upgrade to 2018.1 but when I did that it said something about my iLok licenses, by the way my iLok has the license but its moved to this new cloud section of iLok? But the license is there. Any way please someone help me figure out how to get PT running again, I have tried trashing the prefs as well

Im running it on High Sierra 10.13.3 with my Scarlet 2i2 interface, I had pro tools for about a year on this machine and never had an issue until I let my payment lapse and had to repurchase a subscription and had tried to update to 2018.1 and now it crashes every time (


UPDATE: I switched users on my mac and it suddenly opens on my other user account?? How do i get it back to opening on my main account on my mac?
