Default Problem with sound in quicktimeplayer using 003 interface

Hi I wondered if I was the only one experiencing problems with the sound when using the quicktimeplayer on a 003 rack system. The sound crackles and pops and it sounds like there is a bad delay effect or hardwarebuffer malfunction. I´m using the MME helper software but nothing seems to help.
Best regards
Anders

This is a (well) known problem between the Quicktime engine and the Digidesign Wavedriver. It all started when Apple removed the adjustable buffer from Quicktime.

The solution is to use the computer soundcard for all "computer" audio and route it through the Alt Src inputs.

Otherwise, there is no solution.

I think there is a solution, use Quicktime 6 and everything will be OK

Right, but using Quicktime 6 breaks/reduces the features of the current version of iTunes. So while it can be a workaround if you are only using Quicktime, if you want Quicktime + iTunes and want all of the newest features of iTunes, that workaround isn't going to help much.
