Re: Mbox2 Inputs Run Hot!!!!!!!?????
This happens to me too every now and then. Launch Pro Tools, record arm a track -- then BAM constant hiss that peaks the meter. Doesn't matter what the input is, can be mic or line in. Have to reboot and then it seems okay... until the next time it happens a few days later...
Mackbook Pro OSX 10.6.3 Mbox 2 mini PT 8.0.3 If it's not that, then it's a kernel panic from using sleep mode... |

10.6.3 also has not been qualified for use with PT, yet. I would, however, recommend trying the 8.0.3cs2 update and see what happens. Was this apparent before you upgraded to 10.6.3?

Re: Mbox2 Inputs Run Hot!!!!!!!?????
im running pro tools 8.0.3 and osx 10.6.3...is it a possible problem with osx do you think? or is it more likely to be an unfortunate mbox hardware issue?

Re: Mbox2 Inputs Run Hot!!!!!!!?????
The Windows community was having significant issues with white noise recently. While OSX may be the culprit in this case, I would recommend you upgrade to 8.0.3cs2 and see if this still happens.

I've had the "hot input" problem for a while now... I don't even remember when OSX 10.6.3 came out so I'm not certain if the problem was around before that. At any rate I just updated from 8.0.3 to 8.0.3cs2 this morning, and I'll let you know if that changes anything over the next few days. |

Not sure if this has been fixed for the OP but it seems the hot-input thing is still an issue |
