i need more than 2 inputs, i have an mbox2

ive seen an 8 channel alexis mixer usb, 129 pounds, will this work with protools? or if not any recommendations? also how is is 7.4, ive got vista so is it free, prpbably not i guess? where can i get it.

If you need more than 2 inputs, you need something other than an Mbox 2.
An Mbox 2 has 2 inputs...period.
An Mbox 2 Pro has 6 inputs. 2 mic pres, two analog ins, and 2 via S/PDIF.

The mixer you mention isn't something you want, or at least not something I'd want.
It won't give you extra inputs (you only have 2). I mean, you could mix multiple inputs to the stereo out, then into your Mbox, but...A USB mixer (to my knowledge) isn't going to work along with an Mbox anyway.

If you want more than 6 inputs, you'd have to move to an 002/003.
7.4 is a free upgrade if you bought a recent system with 7.3
7.4 is $75USD if you have something below 7.3 ($45USD if you have 7.3).
