Default multi client?

I ve been trying to get around what multi client means. Ive always wondered why i cant use 2 audio applications simultaneously via my mbox2.
so i guess with the new mbox 3 i can do just that.
Is that what multiclient is?

Actually the Mbox 2 is multi-client.

The only devices that aren't are the 002/003, HD and the original Mbox.

Are you talking about multi-client _with_ Pro Tools running, or about multi-client _without_ Pro Tools running, because there seems to be a difference here too?

(From a user prespective the most interesting thing is of course if they are multi-client _with_ Pro Tools running.)

By saying "HD" are you talking about both HD TDM as well as HD Native?

Is ElevenRack multi-client?

Or is it so that the only devices that in fact _are_ multi-client (with Pro Tools running) is the Mbox family (with the exception of the original Mbox)?

I'm talking about multi-client with Pro Tools running.

And, yes, when I say HD I'm talking both Native and TDM.

Eleven Rack is multi-client.

Is Multi-Client Audio Driver support likely for HD Native?

Likely - yes. When, I'm not sure. There's a LOT going on right now that is affecting these sorts of things, but we know the importance of this for Native and hope to get this work done at some point - as always I press for 'sooner, rather than later...'.

As long as it's on the list. Thank you.
