Default 64bit Windows Support, will it ever come?

Hi,

I just saw that even under vista you can only use up to 4GB of Ram due to the limitation of the 32bit Version.

I think it´s a real shame that even now we Windows Cripples aren´t able to use more Ram with Pro Tools.:-(

This would have been the only reason for me to upgrade to Vista but as a matter of fact now you just lose even more performance by upgrading (Ram, CPU.....).

Ensure XP Prof. 64bit compatiblity and I´m happy

Greetings from Germany

Are you actually running out of memory or do you "think" your running out of memory

Big differance

Are you recording audio or running a extremely large relational database?

At the moment PT runs fine on 32 bit XP/Vista and there is supposedly no Audible differance between 32 bit and 64 bit.

Having said that I would love to see PT run on 64 bit XP Pro and Vista someday.

Ahhhhhhhh...I´m about to order a Dell Workstation with Dual Quad Xeons (8cores) and now I´m stuck with the 2GB option simply due to the fact that 4gigs won´t pay off because I could only use like 2,8Gigs.

But you´re right I don´t actually "need" more Ram now but hey wait for GuitarRig4 and Reason5, then you´ll see......

Yes you will, seriously.

So Digi get back to work. 64bit for Winniusers. Please?

Greetz

Well, to be honest, I'm running PT 7.4 on Vista Ultimate 64bit and it's working fine without the annoying limitation of the 4gb (3gb at the end) 32bit system
