mbox clipping?
Ok so i am a new user; this is my first time. I tried to hook up my mbox to my comp. but that was a no go, so we got one of the other guys in my bands comp, it seems to work fine but we are having this problem i got all the inputs right so we are getting sound out of the moniters you can clearly hear the guitar but after about 3 min, or so; the signel that the mix knob from the mbox(r) starts sounding all distorted then it will eventually go back to the clear sound again if you record while it sounds all clear the recording is clear but if you record while the signel is distorted the recording is also distorted, we changed guitars and cables and it still dose it, also if it is distorting mix knob to the right (mbox send?) if you turn the mix knob left( straight signel?) it dosnt distort but still records all distorted. I belive somthing in the mbox, comp setup is givinr it a intermitant bad signel? any help; there is no way i can record like this!

Re: mbox clipping?
Have you tried increasing the hardware buffer size?

Re: mbox clipping?
It seems like everytime you change that or one other parameter(dont remember) it instantly clears up but without changing anything else it comes back again, we had thought we had fixed it about 30 times last night!

Re: mbox clipping?
do you think that if i had the wrong usb cable that could be doing it; I just found what i belive to be the mboxs original usb cable. It seems to have a filter of sorts on it?

Re: mbox clipping?
I to have this problem on occasion...just switching the buffer setting to a higher setting and then back again clears it up. I never did receive an explantion for this. So I'll be watching for replies as well. For now when it happens I just do the switheroo and continue on. A bit of a pain.
