There is a good scientific explanation to why the sky is blue! Too bad you don’t know.
Thus I am sure there is a good and logical explanation to my original question as well.
If we would all believe that we can’t change things for the better and there is no chance for it then what is the point to evolve at all?

By the way I am using the dual boot solution. Then again it has not much to do with my original question. The reason of my post is that there might be someone maybe at AVID or anybody furnished with this info who can reasonably explain the delay.

Avid ARE fully up to date. If you're sensible and use Windows.

Times they are a changing. Apple is not so slowly leaving the professional market and making all their devices into iOS.

It should be obvious by now that Apple don't care about anyone but themselves.

The future of ProTools on Macs? There isn't one.

Is getting calls and texts that important to your workflow that you have to get them on screen????
Personally I don't see why everyone feels the need to update their OS the day a new version comes out.
All the complaints that PT isn't supported on the latest and greatest OS is BS. (Unless you bought a new Mac Pro)
If it's that important to you get a new machine with the new OS installed and leave your bread and butter machine at a supported configuration.
I really just don't get it.
I just enjoy staying current. I never said I upgraded my bread and butter machine though That machine is still running OSX10.8.4 with PTHD10.3.7

Have you seen a company, except the one that owns the OS - hence they can start coding at the very beginning, that launches an update or version for the new OS within weeks?

There are several options and variables that can go wrong, so on that matter, I prefer to wait for a 4 to 6 months period and be sure that everything will run fine.

In the professional environment, specially in the post and broadcast, you NEVER update to the latest one, it's very risky.

Avid, Steinberg, Merging, MOTU all usually release an update after a few months of the new OS launch, and that make sense.

Regards.

I left Windows over 2 years ago and will never go back. The performance I gained by buying a used 2009 oversized cheese grater compared to a brand spankin' new custom built 2012 PC was mind blowing. Same session that crippled the most recent Windows machine ran like a champ with a lot of headroom on the old Mac Pro.
And when this 2009 MP looks to be end of life, I'll upgrade the processors.

For me there is a future with Pro Tools and Macs and it involves Mountain Lion for years to come.

Congratulations on buying the last pro Mac (in my opinion).

I regularly use both Mac and Windows ProTools and find precisely the opposite. As I always say, my experience - others may vary.

However in 8 years of running ProTools on a PC, I have never had this annual panic over incremental OS updates.
