Default How can I connect a Digi 002 console to a new macbook pro via Firewire?

Hello Avid users,

How can I connect a Digi 002 console to a new macbook pro via Firewire? I heard that the new Macbook Pros have a different Firewire port. Is there any way I can adapt the 002 to fit this new port???

Thank you very much,

Nico

All you need is a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter cable. You can get them at Best Buy, the Apple Store, Guitar Center, and some other places.

I think he's referring to the new Macbook Pros that do not have FireWire ports on them.

From the specs page, it looks like they will be shipping with TBolt to FW adapters, and if not... they will be available.

Wow thanks a lot guys! Very helpful....one last thing, do the new Macbook Pros come with Tbolt? Will i need two adaptors then? (Tbolt to Firewire 800 to Firewire 400? Or simply Tbolt to Firewire 400?

Thanks so much for your help!

Greetings from Ecuador,

Nick

To clarify depending on what you purchase:

The new Macbook Pros do have firewire 800 ports, so you just need an 800 to 400 adapter.

The Retina Display Macbook Pro and the Macbook Airs do not have firewire ports, so you will need 2 cables, the Thunderbolt to firewire adapter (which is fw800) and then an 800 to 400 cable.
