Default Touch screens with pro tools

Has anybody seen and been using a touch screen with PT?

I just saw the 23" LG and it looks super righteous - but i wouldn't pull the trigger unless it was a 27" screen

Wondering the difference b/t a raven MTi and a regular 27" touch

Very curious myself but I suspect the big difference will be the software interface. The Slate unit uses its own software(Mac-only), while any other touchscreen will be at the mercy of the OS. Sure hope we get some experienced comments

Default Touch screens with pro tools

That's why I threw out the line - b/c I don't think many people have used these screens yet

Touch screens directly to the consumer ? This is the first I would suspect

I have just come to grips with the win 8 expierence with a all in one package sold at big box stores

For a fun time go to Fry's one day and check them out - it seems very Raven-ish and seems way fun - better than a Artist Mix or Fader controller

If I get rambunctious here in the next week of 2, I might find one locally just to check out. A big concern is if PT is multi touch supported or not and Shane's big concern which is latency. If multi touch don't work, don't know if it will be worth it??

I don't quite get what you are saying? You bought a W8 based computer??

I miss Fry's so much!! When I lived in Phoenix, it was like a hangout!! I go to one out by Anaheim whenever I am out there. Now I am sad!!!

I upgraded one of my XP computers last year to Win8 - don't use it much but that's another story

I like the idea of the all in one W8 computers - at first they were gimmicky and didn't seem that nice - now days they look very cool and the hardware (internal) is nicer better performing - which is what u need b/c you probably won't be upgrading stuff in there once you get it .

The LG monitor that I mentioned says it supports multitouch (ie natively) which sounds Ravenish - but yes latency could be a killer

Haha I'm in Phoenix for the week - ill visit and let them know their missed !!!

Sure wish someone would stick a Frye's in Nashville! Even single touch on a screen might be nicer than
keys all day long........

Looking around at them, it seems 5ms latency is as good as it gets. How that will translate to real world use, I do not know. Also I found an Acer that suports "10 point touch" I am guessing PT would be able to support this as well?? It works through Nyrink V control, but they are using a modified HUI protocol which he also did for Slate's touch screen.

Enjoy Phoenix. This is the best time of year IMO to be there!!

It shows that one of the Best Buy's in town has one. If all goes, I will try to go grab it by this weekend and check it out.
