File Corruption
We started experiencing file corruption in pro-tools HD sessions.
A few audio files suddenly play white noise and irrelevant audio content. That can happen days or weeks after the audio was originally recorded. In most cases we have not been able to retrieve original audio from these files. We just started a few tests to try and locate the problem. Sully Sound |

Re: File Corruption
Make sure all of your audio drives (and anything audio will be shuttled to) are either ALL HFS (preferred) or HFS+. If you prefer, your System/ProTools drive can be HFS+.
Also make sure all of them are formatted with the SAME formatter....ie, Apple formatter and hard drive updater. Mixing and matching of formatting seems to be a serious source of the white noise error your report.

Re: File Corruption
Also, as I just wrote on the "HD PROBLEMS..." thread...
Verify that ALL the Digi system files are concurrent with the version of PT you're running, or at least the absolute LATEST VERSIONS as found on the 5.3.1 install DISK (not the download). I found that after the install, not everything was updated. We had lots of corrupted sessions. Also, the Hardware Setup and PT Prefs would constantly reset themselves to default states. After I rooted-out and replaced the outdated files, everything has been running smoothly. -C |
