export loop to mp3 problem
Hi,
I am working on a 40 seconds loop for a website and they want it im mp3 format. My loop play's flawlessly in Pro Tolls (.wav) but when i try to export it to mp3 in Logic, itunes or audacity, i always get some silence at the begining of the file. I've done a search here and found a little application for trimming mp3 (MP3 trimmer). It's trimming the beginning of the loop but the silence is still there. Exporting loops to MP3 is not something i do often so i would like to know if there is a way to get rid of this silence or if there is a better compressed format than MP3 that would do the job. by the way, i dont have the mp3 export option in pro tools, maybe it would export it better than logic? Or is it always like this with mp3 export? Thank you! Luc |

Re: export loop to mp3 problem
MP3s need to be rounded, that's how the silence happens. When we work for Internet, it is generally for Flash. And in this case, it is better to deliver *.wav or *.aif and let Flash do the mp3 convertion. That way the loop will play fine as well.
Hope this helps, Timothy |
