Default Dither when \"Recording To Disk\"

I've been using "bounce to disk" (and consequently the Dither was being applied during the bounce by the conversion to 16Bit)...
now I'm experimenting with "Record to Disk" (RTD)... and i'm wondering what should be done dither-wise, when exporting as a 16Bit file for CD reference.
Is the dither applied during the conversion process?
Should the dither be applied before the recording to disk? or will it be applied during exporting?

Thanks very much all...
