Default Re: Importing Audio From a DVD???

lexicon

i installed soundflower and it'd great! i love cycling74 products, i use plugggo all the time.

if i'm playing a dvd and i route the audio out of soundflower, how can i record it directly to pro tools?

pro tools only recognises its own hardware, do i need another application to record into? i'm trying to avoid that.

i really just wanted to rip the audio off a dvd and into pro tools to maintain excellent audio quality. i've been playing the dvd audio out of the laptop audio card and recording it into pro tools, but i think you loose sound quality that way.

thanks for the help!

my solution to just getting a few samples from a dvd is to just route the audio from a dvd player into your preamp and sample the sound bytes one be one in real time.
If you install SoundFlower and learn how to use it, you never leave the digital domain at all....
You may also connect your digital out of your DVD player to the digital in of your PT (SPDIF), so you stay digital. Just be sure your PT session is 48kHz.
