I'm having a recurring issue, most notably with Omnisphere, but also with Kontakt and Diva, where MIDI is being passed into PT (Midi meter registers with every key pressed), but the Instrument won't receive or process the signal. Sometimes it will start working again if I inactivate and reactivate the plugin, but most of the time, I have to reboot PT altogether.
Changing audio buffer does not work. Instrument is correctly routed in the "instrument" tab. I have updated all of the instruments, updated firmware on my interface, etc. Novation Impulse is plugged directly into Intel Mac Mini via USB. Running Pro Tools Studio 2022.12.0 Intel Mac Mini OS 12.6.3 |

In the mixer, did you check the «*instrument*» on top (that’s something you should be able to show / hide same as inserts or sends).
I have a similar recurring issue where PT loses the assignment for no obvious reason. I’ll try to post a screenshot a bit later

This is what I mean. Sometimes it randomly goes to "none", not sure if it's an error on my side or a bug

I have found that instrument-tracks behave better when they have an input assigned.

Not having this issue on my end. All instrument assignments/inputs stay active and consistent, but the plugin will stop processing the midi into audio.

i have this exact same issue, and restarting protools is the only solution I have found so far. Really frustrating when you have clients in the room

I have the same issue. Actually two versions:
1) VI routing drops and needs to be re routed 2) VI sounds drops (routing fine) usually changing my buffer size fixes it. Another PT silly thing that should not be happening in the highest price DAW available. C

I have both of these issues as well, the instrument routing changing to "none" has been an issue for years. sometimes instead of none it changes to an instrument on a different track (i.e. drum midi playing through a piano upon reopening session). maddening
but also have the issue where it's correctly routed but the VI just stops working and usually inactivate/reactivate the inst plugin corrects it. but sometimes needs PT restart OSX 12.6 PT 2022.10 2022.12 had more issues here with midi instrument glitching on bounce |

I have this issue after a cpu overload message. Not the one with instrument assignment to none but it just stops playing so I have to deactivate/activate the VI..
